I live two hours away so I called in advance about selling my scope. I was told I would need to bring it physically to the store to have it evaluated. Upon arrival I am told it is $90 for the eval. No mention of this fee ahead of time. Shady.
Do not order anything from these guys, I have been getting the run around for a month now on items I ordered over the internet that were out of stock. First they said two weeks, then they said the company shipping the product moved and was not shipping any product, I tried to cancel my order and they refused to cancel my order unless I paid them 25% and told me to be patient after a month of waiting it would be a few more weeks. Meanwhile they took my money on day one, now I am at their mercy. No response to my emails and argumentive staff when I call. I'm told the manager is in and out all day and will respond to me via email when he gets around to it. My review is simply do not order from this company, save yourself a lot of runaround and grief.
I've been buying telescopes and accessories from Ray Khan for 30 years. His store is smaller in size than his rival across the street, but is crammed with good stuff and helpful staff. Prices are as good as you'll find anywhere. I've only ever bought as a walk-in customer, and can't say anything about his mail order service. His location, in a strip mall close to the 401, is excellent, and parking is usually easy. My only caveat is not to try ordering anything which is not in stock. I've often had to wait months, and frequently my order just got lost, and I ended up having to buy elsewhere. When I've had problems with a purchase, it has always been replaced from stock with no arguments. Excellent selection of used equipment.
