Until handed down to the daughter...

I've eaten here more times that one could count. But now that the business had been handed down to the daughter (to my understanding) It is just gone a different direction, the wrong direction. Consistency is no longer there! Maybe it will come back one day.. I hope.

My best friend lives in North Bay and I visit often. No trip north would be complete without at least one trip to Ivan’s! I was really surprised when I read MickeyCharlie’s review…every time I’ve been to Ivan’s, I’ve had nothing but courteous and quick service, even on the busiest days! I’m sure if MickeyCharlie had spoken up rather than stewing about his experience, the staff would have gone out of their way to make him happy! Every meal I’ve had at Ivan’s has been delicious and I really appreciate the quality of the food! I’m counting down the days until my next visit for a juicy Ivan’s burger!!!!

I used to love Ivans. Being a hop, skip and a jump from Widdifield I used to go there all the time. The last time I went there, what a difference a few years make... I waited literally 40 minutes for a hamburger which I ordered to go. I got it, and it was burnt. I have never been more, pardon the pun, burnt.

Quality Throughout...

Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering the North Bay tradition known as Ivan's Restaurant. For years I have been hearing about their legendary poutine and "Pronto Pups" (pogos). The experience did not disappoint! The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff is welcoming. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (fantastic!) and a side of fries (also fantastic!) I indulged in a chocolate shake - and was impressed to see that it was made the old fashioned way. A great dining experience! I can see why they have such a great reputation! Thanks, I'll be back!

Claude, the fomer owner has recently sold Ivan's to his son and daughter. Ever since then I have felt a bit uncomfortable there. The daughter is always business, business, business. I imagine she makes her employees quite nervous. The son doesn't seem to be into it at all. I placed an order with him one day and he LITERALLY did not speak a single word to me. I actually had to look at the register for my total as he blankly stared at me. Very odd. I never felt this way before. Claude acted like a bit of a host and it was nice - made me feel valued and appreciated as a customer. Now, I feel rather like the number I'm given to bring to my table. Service with a smile goes along way guys. Treat your customers like you would want to be treated. Pretty basic stuff really.
