Well first time at Aliolis. About 30 mins into being seated, the lights in the dinning room went out. So we were sitting in the dark for about 1 hour. On top of it all, they served our food in the dark. So now you literally have no idea what you are eating because it was lights out. They did not even try to apologize for the incovenience. All the waiter said was that i orders are going to be longer now, so just be patient. It would have been nice to maybe get a complimentary drink or something for this incovenience. When the bills finally came, we had to wait about 45 mins for the waiter to ring it up because the systems were still down. On top of all that, the waiter seemed to be a bit upset because we did not tip him extra ontop of his gratiuity fee. Maybe next time you should worry about the customers and see if they are happy before complainin that you want more tips and next time some complimentary would have been nice for all this incovenience. never again!!

In the late 90's, this place was enjoyable even though the food was never authentic. My wife and I loved listening to Cynthia while having a "decent" meal. She's no longer there and much of the ambiance is gone. The quality of the food is also on it's way out out. Actually, the food was very poor this last time. It seemed thrown together and although the waiters were trying to be their charming selves, none of them came across as being real. Perhaps they never were and this time we felt it. I don't care where people come from. I always knew that the owners were not Italian. That never bothered my wife and I. At the same time, why change one's real name to create an image? I guess the answer is money. I don't mind paying top dollar for a good meal, but don't tell us that everything is fresh when it really isn't. Sorry Alioli. You've just lost two customers.
This was the second time I've been to this restaurant with friend and I will have to admit it was great, wonderful. Agreat job done by the staff and the chefs. My salmon was done to perfection, and my companion said his veal was wonderful to...We will all be back again. I've read some of the other nots below and those that have been having problems must be having bad days cause Aliolis is GRREAAT.
The food wasn't terrible. It just wasn't what I heard it was. The service seemed fine. The music wasn't anything to speak of. My girlfriend later told me that our waiter (I don't remember his name), had come on to her while I was in the restroom and had insisted on giving her his phone number as well. I will certainly go back and discuss this with the owner and I would expect that the owner apologize to my girlfriend and myself for not setting guidlines with his waitstaff regarding the treatment of paying customers. If this restaurant wants to attract class, then it should get rid of the trash. I'll never reserve a table again.
