More than $450 and no resolution
My first experience with this company was good. Keith was prompt, polite and seemingly fair. He fixed my dryer, no problem. But I also had a problem with my fridge, which Keith couldn't identify on his first call. He gave me signs to watch for, which I did. With that information, he replaced the cool control. Turned out the cool control was not the problem, so he replaced the starter, explaining that he had just had the same experience with another client, and nothing else could explain the fact that food kept thawing in the freezer. Turned out the problem was not with the starter either. Rather than admit to being stumped, and doing his best to determine once and for all what the real problem is, Keith chose avoidance. He didn't follow up when he said he would call to arrange another appointment. He didn't return my e-mails. He didn't show up when we did have an appointment. When we did finally speak, I said I expected my fridge to be fixed or a refund on what I had paid for the cool control and starter. (He provides a written guarantee of one year on all parts). Bottom line: I have paid him more than $450 -- about half the cost of a new fridge -- for a service call, labour and two parts. In return, I will get neither a fridge that works nor a refund.
