Il Ponte Cucina Italiana

Il Ponte has one of the best views of the Athletes' Village, from either inside the glass walled dining room or out on the spacious patio looking west from the east side of the River Street Bridge. Mengrai Thai

82 Ontario St, Toronto ON M5A 2V3

I don’t know why Mengrai Thai doesn’t make it onto more "Best Of" lists. After all, this is where Mick Jagger (!!) likes to dine. Specializing in authentic Northern Thai cuisine, the menu has offerings you won’t find elsewhere in the city such as Golden Pumpkin Soup ($7.50); Sasi’s #54 Red Chicken Curry with Lychee served in a fresh carved pineapple ($18.50); Vegetarian Tibetan Mountain Bai Ling Mushrooms with mix greens ($15.95) featuring rare, nutritious “roof of the world” gourmet mushrooms; and Bankers Braised Curry Lamb with peach ($17.95). Drool.

260 King St E, Toronto ON M5A 4L5

Eleonora and Federico Caldato, Italian siblings who started Mangia & Bevi, believe fresh is always best. With 10 salads, 16 pastas and 32 pizzas to choose from, you can visit often and never have to have the same thing twice! Pair that with wines solely from Italy, and you’ve got yourself a meal to remember.

Bolets Burrito

5
134 Lower Sherbourne St, Toronto ON M5A 4J4

Bolet’s Burrito on Lower Sherbourne is a tiny spot and hidden gem. These homemade quesadillas and burritos are outstanding, thanks to dynamic Mexican and Filipino flavours and great care at the grill. Choose from fun items such as Buffalo Chicken, Sweet Spicy Thai, Beer Chipotle Chicken and Battered and Fried White Fish, and wash it down with a fruit flavoured Jarrito - a sweet soft drink from Mexico. It’s a fitting meal for walking around the Village and taking in all the sights.
