The team also joined in the celebration, wearing bright and cheerful colors to mark this special occasion. Nowruz, meaning “New Day” in Persian, has been cherished for over 3,000 years, bringing families together in joy and reflection. At Coast Hotels 2025 Annual Conference, we had the privilege of welcoming Sebastien Sasseville as our keynote speaker. His story is nothing short of extraordinary. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2002, Sébastien refused to let it define him. Instead, he turned adversity into strength, becoming the first Canadian with Type 1 diabetes to summit Mount Everest, complete the grueling Sahara Race, run 7,500 km across Canada, and finish the Race Across America, one of the toughest ultra-cycling events in the world.   His journey is a powerful testament to resilience, leadership, and embracing change. Sébastien’s words resonated deeply with our team, reminding us that challenges are opportunities for growth. His message: Great leaders don’t wait for change, they create it. We left the conference not just inspired but empowered to take action. Restoring Nature, One Tree & Kelp at a Time!🌿 We’re incredibly proud to share the impact of our partnership with TELUS Environment Solutions. Through this collaboration, we’re making a tangible difference in restoring Canada’s forests and marine ecosystems: 🌱 25,000 trees planted across BC, Alberta & Saskatchewan 🌊 6,000 kelp planted in Hotham Sound, BC That’s 16 hectares of new forest in post-wildfire zones and an estimated 7,500 metric tonnes of CO₂ sequestered—the equivalent of taking 1,785 cars off the road for an entire year! Nature restoration is vital for climate resilience and thriving ecosystems, and now Coast Rewards Members can take part by using their points to support reforestation efforts.
